Heil Sound's Microphones - A Big Hit with Broadcasters

Heil Sound LogoHeil Sound Ltd., is a modern microphone company founded by Bob Heil. All Heil microphones are assembled and quality tested at the company’s headquarters in Fairview Heights, IL. Big sellers at Dale, they have always been big hits with broadcasters, an extension of Bob's long time passion for radio.

PR-40 and PR-30One of their most popular models, the PR-40 ($327) is a full-range dynamic microphone designed for broadcast and studio applications. It is the only dynamic mic with the ability to reproduce frequencies as low as 28Hz. The unique, copper-wound voice coil uses a mixed metallic magnet structure that creates a magnetic field 10 times stronger than most mics. Coupled with a large 1-1/2", low-mass, quilted aluminum diaphragm, this makes for tremendous low-frequency response and low distortion throughout the PR-40 mic's wide frequency range. A unique dual pop screen design ensures that breath blasts never hit the diaphragm directly.
Another well-received model at Dale, the Heil PR 30 ($252) represents completely new dynamic microphone technology designed for a wide range of professional applications such as sophisticated recording, live sound, and commercial broadcast.

PL2TIn addition, Heil Sound also offers broadcasters a wide variety of booms and mounting accessories to fulfill the needs of any station's on-air studio. Our most popular boom arm for any manufacturer's microphone, the PL2T ($120) is equipped with a unique cable management system that allows for neat wiring runs in your studio. Its construction also provides silent operation to prevent any on-air noises if movement is required.

PR-22But wait........there's more! Heil manufactures mics that go beyond the airwaves - some of Bob's first products were designed for life on tour! The PR 22 ($184) is a revolutionary dynamic cardioid microphone incorporating a large (1.125”) diaphragm, patent pending ISO BAND™ isolation mounting that offers greater articulation throughout its entire wide, flat, frequency range with very low handling noise. Additionally, noise directed at the rear of the mic is virtually eliminated through a combination of special porting & phasing plug design. This is a sound professional’s dream, come true.
