October 20th through the 23rd, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, here in Dale Pro Audio's backyard,
NYC, New York.
The Audio Engineering Society was formed in 1948 by a group of dedicated audio engineers. The AES counts over 14,000 members throughout the U.S., Latin America, Europe, Japan and the Far East. The organization serves as the pivotal force in the exchange and dissemination of technical information for the industry.
For over 60 years, AES Conventions have been the largest gathering of audio professionals and enthusiasts on the globe, attracting delegates from over 100 countries worldwide. AES Conventions are held annually in both the United States and Europe and are the largest gatherings of audio professionals in the world. Workshops, tutorials, technical papers and the exhibition floor provide attendees with a wealth of learning, networking and business opportunities.
Dale Pro Audio will be attending the 131st AES Convention, but unlike previous years, we will not be stuck behind a table in the exhibition hall. Instead, our team will be roaming the floor, meeting with manufacturers, and engineers, seeking out new technology.
At Dale, we pride ourselves in being your source for up-to-date information on all things pro audio. We're making a commitment to traverse the convention floor, and put in face-time with all the exhibitors, both large and small, the whole time, accumulating the knowledge that will help our customers achieve audio perfection.

- Blending Vintage Style and Sound with Modern Technology
TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik has a mission: they strive for absolute perfection. By offering historic recreations of classic microphones, alongside their own proprietary designs based around the distinctive tube mic sound, they have established a product line that perfectly blends vintage style and sound with the reliability of a modern-day microphone. Their commitment to both the sonic excellence and quality of all of their products is rivaled only by their dedication to provide the best possible service to each and every one of their customers.
TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik of South Windsor, Connecticut has been following the tradition of excellence and innovation set by the original German TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik, GmbH that began over 100 years ago.
Production of the original ELA M 251 ceased in 1963, but was reborn in 2000 when owner Toni Fishman needed to recreate the switch assembly for the 251s in his extensive vintage microphone collection. Having made the molds for the revival or these historic microphones, the next logical step was to faithfully recreate the entire microphone in their original, historically accurate glory.
As the years passed, historic blueprints for capsules, circuits, and systems were obtained. Transformers were recreated; often by their original manufacturer from 50 years ago. This meticulous historic research has led to the creation of TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik's "Diamond Series," which includes historically accurate reproductions of the
C-12, and 4 different versions of the ELA M 25x which all embody precise historic detail.
In 2003, TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik received the TEC Award for Microphone Technology / Studio for the
ELA M 251.
In 2008, TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik received the TEC Award for Microphone Technology / Recording for the
ELA M 260.
In 2009, not satisfied to rest of the laurels of historically accurate recreations, the "CK-13" capsule was released. This capsule features a diaphragm membrane material made from "Alloy 2213"™, a Titanium and Aluminum alloy which was originally developed for the aerospace industry. The material has better rigidity than the gold that is traditionally employed for microphone diaphragms, with a lighter mass in order to achieve a greater level of detail and nuance captured by the microphone system.
Today, TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik offers a complete line of microphones to suit any budget. Whether recording in your bedroom with the
AR-51, tracking at a studio with the
ELA M 260, or rocking out on stage with the
M80, TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik has quality microphones to suit your needs.
