Dale Featured in 2014 Small Business Week Expo

Amazon and ChaseAmazon and Ink from Chase are celebrating 2014 Small Business Week by profiling select sellers, and Dale Pro Audio is proud to be one of them! Dale first began selling online via Amazon in 2010. The move was part of Dale's long journey from humble beginnings in 1956 as a TV and Radio parts business in Lower Manhattan to becoming a leading national Pro Audio dealer.

Valerie LagerStanley Lager founded the Dale in 1956 with $10.000 and a handful of inventory, and his children Michael and Valerie (pictured at right), have carried on his legacy. The company recently expanded its sales and warehouse space with a new location in Jamaica, Queens, while retaining the company's Manhattan roots with a store location in the heart of the Flatiron district (a short distance from Stanley's first shop). Dale's staff is among the best in the industry, with a wealth of experience in sales, support, and real-world usage.

According to Valerie, “Amazon has helped Dale reach customers from all over the country, and has increased our exposure to customers that would never have known about us."

Now Shipping - TC Electronic UpCon 5.1 HD Audio Processor

TC Electronic Logo
With processors in daily use in practically every major network, you can count on TC Electronic's broadcast gear to make your programs sound the best they can. TC has now upped the ante by shipping the UpCon 5.1 HD Audio Processor.

UpConUpCon is a state-of-the-art upconverter that gives you absolute piece of mind that your transmission is always optimized for 5.1 HD TV. TC has combined uncompromising upconversion and downmix in a single, high-density rack unit. UpCon continuously monitors the channel format of the incoming audio, and if the signal falls back from true 5.1 to stereo, it seamlessly cross-fades into a convincing 5.1 surround upconversion without adding any interruptions or artifacts.

When you downmix, one of the main factors to consider is the 5.1 source itself. A 5.1 signal generated by UpCon translates better into stereo than one made by any competing upconverter regardless of whether you let UpCon handle the downmix or whether it happens at the end-listeners' top set box or TV. This is essential to broadcasters that generally transmit 5.1 signals, but receive commercials in stereo, or air newscasts that rely on signals coming in from around the world - some in 5.1 and others in stereo. In short, with UpCon in your signal chain your downmix will be optimized no matter what.

For information on the UpCon Series, contact us at info@daleproaudio.com or call 888.462.7828.

RedNet Leads The Way for Mobile Recording Engineer Matthew Weiner

Focusrite LogoThe Focusrite RedNet system is best known for its ability to operate very high channel counts at extremely low latencies over a standard gigabit Ethernet network, making it ideal for applications such as multi-room recording studios, post-production facilities and educational institutes. But it also has great benefits for mobile recording engineers, due to its flexibility, reliability and portability.

iTrack StudioMatthew Weiner is one such engineer who has recently adopted the RedNet 2 as his main recording interface. RedNet 2 is a 16-channel A-D/D-A converter which very simply provides 16 line-level inputs and 16 line-level outputs to a RedNet system in a 2U package. Matthew works in a variety of situations, from home recording spaces and rehearsal studios to concert halls, where he records live classical and jazz music performances. His system comprises a well-specified Lenovo laptop running Adobe Audition and Cockos Reaper software applications, with his RedNet 2 and some rackmounted mic preamps in a rolling 6U rack case.

Matthew values his investment in RedNet immensely, as it has given him much greater flexibility in terms of infrastructure and logistics while maintaining professional-quality sound.
