JBL 7 Series Event at Soundtrack NYC

JBL LogoJBL Professional recently teamed up with Dale Pro Audio and Dolby Laboratories to unveil the new JBL 7 Series in the new Dolby Atmos surround format. The event was held at the prestigious Soundtrack Studios in NYC's Flatiron District.

Soundtrack NY
Hosted by JBL's Peter Chaikin and Dolby's Tom Kodros, the event provided an immersive listening and learning experience for guests from a wide variety of markets. The guests were also able to meet Dale's Broadcast Sales professionals and spend some time with the Studer Vista 1 console, which was also on display.

Jeffrey Friedlander, a senior consultant at SIA Acoustics–an acoustical design and consulting firm based in New York and Hollywood, remarked, “This was a fun and informative event. The JBL 7 series brings a combination of accuracy, definition, power, and off-axis response that I haven't seen in monitors for this application. The low frequency response and power-to-size ratio of the LSR705i was unbelievable. I'm still not sure I believe that bass was coming out of those monitors! And the Atmos system is a clear leap in surround technology. I’m excited to see how the industry will take advantage of this new tool.”

7 SeriesThe first in JBL’s new 7 Series line, the 705i and 708i models (now shipping) answer the call for next generation multi-channel monitoring in post rooms, broadcast facilities and trucks. Leveraging patented technologies developed for the flagship M2 Master Reference Monitor, 7 Series deliver detailed imaging, extended frequency response and remarkable output from compact enclosures. Centrally amplified and tuned, and easily installed, 705i and 708i are the heart of an elegant, scalable system for broadcast and post facilities working in immersive audio formats.
