Which microphone is best for podcasting or voiceover work?
The Neumann U87 is an industry standard for voiceover work for a good reason - it is very sensitive, picks up vocal nuances well, and has a particular equalization curve that seems to help the voice. For podcasting, the Shure SM7 has become a stalwart; however, this microphone works best with a LOT of available gain from the microphone preamplifier. Don't forget - getting the mic close to the source is important - don't forget a stand or mount.

How should I treat my room for better sound?
